Ati Motors last week unveiled the Sherpa 10K tugger and Sherpa Meca at its Product Day 2025. The company said it engineered the robots for demanding industrial environments in India and abroad.
Founded in 2017, Ati Motors has developed autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) with artificial intelligence. Inspired by self-driving cars, the company said it has developed systems for manufacturing facilities.
The Bengaluru, India-based company‘s product range includes tugs, bin movers, pallet movers, and lifting platforms. It said its flagship Sherpa Tug, which features 3D navigation and outdoor capabilities, has logged more than 500,000 km (310,000 mi.) across over 50 factories.
Ati Motors serves global leaders in automotive, appliances, aerospace, and electronics sectors.Â
Mecha has a humanoid-inspired design
In addition to its AMRs, Ati Motors introduced the Sherpa Mecha mobile manipulator. The company said it wanted to step away from traditional approaches to designing humanoid robots focused on biomimicry with its design.
Instead, Sherpa Mecha features two arms, a head, and a wheeled base. Ati isn’t the only company going this route. Reflex Robotics, RoboForce, and Kinisi Robotics all offer similar dual-armed, wheeled robots.
Developed using advanced actuation systems and modular AI, the robot is now open for collaboration with leading academic institutions, research labs, and industry partners to drive innovation in human-robot interaction.
Sherpa 10K built for tight spaces
Ati Motors said the Sherpa 10K tugger’s new features include:
- Towing capacity: Up to 5 tons or 11,000 lb.
- Advanced 3D lidar: With camera fusion for navigation
- In-place turning: Allowing for easy maneuvering in tight factory spaces
In addition, Ati announced that its flagship Sherpa range of AMRs is on track to successfully execute over 1 million autonomous missions annually. It said these advanced robots, designed and built in-house, are trusted by leading manufacturers and warehouses across Southeast Asia, the U.S., and Mexico.
Ati Motors details other AMRs
At Ati Motors’ Product Day 2025, the company also featured its Sherpa Monofork, the Sherpa Lifter 500, and the Sherpa Pallet Mover 1.5T.
The Monofork is a compact and intelligent robot designed to lift and transport trolleys with a single sturdy fork. With a 500 kg (1,102 lb.) capacity and eight-hour runtime, it’s built for efficient material movement in industrial spaces.
Equipped with advanced sensors and a swappable battery, the Monofork can easily integrate into existing operations to boost productivity with minimal effort, claimed Ati.
The company added that the Sherpa Lifter 500 can lift, pick, and drop pallets with ease. It supports multiple top modules like scissor lift, turntable, and roller-top, making it adaptable to different applications. With a 500 kg (1,102 lb.) capacity and 16-hour runtime, it delivers long-lasting performance, according to Ati.
Finally, the Sherpa Pallet Mover 1.5T is an autonomous robot built to move heavy pallets with precision. Now upgraded with a payload capacity of 1.5 tons (1,500 kg), it is suitable for high-volume, heavy-duty industrial applications.
Designed for efficiency and safety, can help streamline pallet transport while reducing manual effort, said Ati Motors.
