Brain Corp., which develops the BrainOS artificial intelligence-driven technology for autonomous mobile robots or AMRs, announced a series of milestones it achieved in the past year. The San Diego-based company also appointed Chris Lobdell as its new chief revenue officer.
The 2023 milestones included:
- More than 30,000 robots subscribed to the BrainOS robotics platform. These AMRs included autonomous floor scrubbers, commercial vacuums, and inventory scanners.
- OEM partners deployed 5,700 new robots across 265 customers globally.
- The company‘s fleet of floor-scrubbing robots using BrainOS have covered 38 billion sq. ft. (3.5 billion sq. m)
- Floor-scrubbing robots running on the robotics platform logged over 2.3 million hours of autonomous operations, surpassing 287,000 workdays.
- Inventory-scanning robots running BrainOS captured more than 7.9 billion shelf images in 2023. This information can be fed to AI algorithms to identify crucial insights, like out-of-stock items and product locations.
“2023 marked a year of unparalleled scale and achievements for Brain Corp,” stated CEO David Pinn in a release.
Chris Lobdell joins BrainCorp team
“With the addition of Chris, a highly adept industry executive, we are poised to further propel our growth trajectory, particularly in enterprise software sales,” added Pinn.
Lobdell brings more than two decades of sales and technical leadership experience to the organization. He was most recently the chief revenue officer at GoodData.
Before that, Lobdell led a team at Salesforce Inc. that focused on data and identity solutions for retailers and consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturers.
As CRO, Lobdell will focus on scaling Brain Corp’s sales, marketing, and client-success operations. He will work to build deeper customer relationships and further strengthen ties with Brain Corp’s channel partners.
“Brain Corp has established itself as the leader in next-generation robotics, powering advanced autonomous robot applications for companies like Walmart and Kroger,” Lobdell said. “With the expansion of Brain Corp’s capabilities to include new vision-based AI data applications, I’m excited to put my two decades of co-innovating with retailers to bring to market the next generation of autonomous inventory scanning retail solutions.”
Brain Corp expands to inventory scanning
Earlier this year, Brain Corp announced the BrainOS InventoryAI Suite. The company said it designed the suite to analyze inventory data captured by autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) running on its platform.
Brain Corp claimed that the BrainOS InventoryAI Suite is “an adaptable, comprehensive, AI-powered, inventory analytics solution empowering retailers to capture and leverage in-store data according to their unique needs.”
Last year, it also announced the Site Maps feature for fleet insights. Not only can BrainOS help automate commercial workflows like cleaning floors and sensing environmental data, but the company said it can also “empower organizations and their employees to achieve more.”
