Crown Equipment Corp. this month released the “Build My Truck” feature on its website. When used with Crown’s Forklift Product Selector, the self-service tool can help customers create lift truck configurations that meet their specific application needs, said the company.

“The Build My Truck feature can help simplify the lift truck purchasing process, meeting customers where they are and providing the information they want when and where they need it,” stated Michelle Chapman, vice president of marketing at Crown Equipment. “This self-service feature enables users to explore Crown lift truck options at their convenience and allows us to quickly confirm customer requirements.”

Founded in 1945, Crown Equipment said it is one of the world’s oldest material handling companies. The New Bremen, Ohio-based company produces forkliftsbatteries and chargers, automationfleet management technologies, and warehouse products and design services.

Build My Truck provides personalization

Crown said the new feature advances its “vision to provide personalized and accessible tools that streamline the customer journey.”

Customers can choose categories in the Forklift Product selector, such as capacity and lift height to configure a lift truck to meet their requirements. They can then pick individual options or pre-selected option packages for their specific applications, the company explained.

To use the Build My Truck feature, customers must first register an account, which enables them to create, store and retrieve lift truck configurations. Each configuration can be submitted separately for a quote request.

Live chat is also available with the Build My Truck feature to provide additional configuration support if necessary.

The Build My Truck feature, Forklift Product Selector and the Crown Service Request app are all electronic tools designed to deliver a streamlined, flexible customer experience, said the company. In addition, select forklifts, parts and accessories are available 24/7 for online purchase at shop.crown.com.
