Cyngn Inc. announced on Tuesday that it will deploy its DriveMod Tugger at a major consumer packaged goods, or CPG, distribution company. Cyngn said this deployment reaffirms its expanding presence across manufacturing and distribution.
“This deployment marks another step in Cyngn’s mission to bring seamless automation to diverse industries,” said Lior Tal, CEO of Cyngn. “Only about a third of all CPG companies have robots on more than 50% of their lines, which is to say there is a lot of opportunity for growth in this industry. We’re excited to see our technology play a critical role in transforming the way goods move through facilities.”
The CPG distribution company—which Cyngn declined to identify—intends to integrate DriveMod Tuggers to enhance intra-facility logistics.
DriveMod Tugger promises productivity
Cyngn said its DriveMod Tuggers are powered by artificial intelligence and a robust suite of safety features. These include 360° vision and collision-avoidance systems, allowing the robots to navigate dynamic environments with precision.
Integrated with Cyngn Insight, the company’s fleet management and analytics platform, the DriveMod Tuggers enable real-time fleet monitoring and control. Cyngn said this offers customers the ability to coordinate and optimize tasks efficiently.
The Menlo Park, Calif.-based company said it develops and deploys autonomous vehicle technology for industrial organizations. Cyngn asserted that its self-driving systems allow existing workforces to increase productivity and efficiency.
Cyngn starts 2025 with funding, new contracts
As the CPG industry embraces automation, Cyngn said it remains committed to delivering scalable autonomous systems to meet the unique needs of modern distribution and logistics environments. The announcement came shortly after Cyngn’s recent contracts with separate companies in the automotive manufacturing space.
Earlier this month, the company brought in $33 million in funding. Cyngn said it plans to use the funding to scale the production and deployment of its autonomous tuggers and forklifts. The company also plans to focus on scaling robotics deployments, accelerating product innovation, and expanding its market reach.
In addition, Cyngn offers its DriveMod Kit. This product can be installed on new industrial vehicles at end of the line or via retrofit. The company said this empowers customers to adopt self-driving technology into their operations without high upfront costs or the need to completely replace existing vehicle investments.
Cyngn’s flagship product, its Enterprise Autonomy Suite, includes DriveMod; Cyngn Insight, a customer-facing suite of fleet management, teleoperation, and analytics tools; and Cyngn Evolve, an internal toolkit that enables it to use field data for AI, simulation, and modeling.
