Exotec SAS last week opened Exostudio inside its North American headquarters in Atlanta. The warehouse robotics provider said the showroom serves as a customer experience center, offering prospects a firsthand look at its latest technology, as well as virtual access to client sites from across the world.

“With the rapid growth we’ve experienced in the North American market, we needed a showroom that helps customers and prospects understand the operational impact of the next generation of Skypod,” said Stanislas Normand, managing director of Exotec North America. “Exostudio gives us the ability to showcase not only our cutting-edge hardware, but also the powerful software capabilities that set us apart from other solutions in the market.”

Founded in 2015, Exotec claimed that it combines hardware and software to offer warehouse automation that drives operational efficiency, adds resiliency, and improves working conditions. The Lille, France-based company said that more than 50 industry-leading brands including Gap Inc., Carrefour, Decathlon, and UNIQLO trust it to improve their operations across over 150 sites worldwide.

Exostudio to show off Skypod enhancements

Exostudio is the first permanent demonstration site in North America for the newest generation of Skypod, launched in February. The automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) includes several design improvements, including a new and more compact Skypod robot, a workstation for robot-to-robot picking, a high-throughput Exchanger, and denser storage.

These enhancements, combined with advanced software features, make the system an all-in-one ASRS, according to Exotec. This enables customers to remove complex subsystems and optimize their entire supply chains.

Exotec said it has found success in several market verticals, including e-commerce groceryretailhealthcare, and manufacturing. The company has deployed Skypod to more than 20 customers, according to Arthur Bellamy, chief revenue officer.

Alongside Exostudio, Exotec is introducing Exoseminars — a quarterly interactive workshop series designed for supply chain executives. Led by industry experts from Exotec and other leading logistics companies, each session aims to offer in-depth insights through real-world case studies and highlight how top brands are using the latest technology to enhance supply chain performance.

Exotec cites Oxford Industries deployment

Since launching the Skypod in stealth three years ago, Exotec said its projects with the system have totaled more than $400 million. In North America, the new system resonated with enterprise customers such as Oxford Industries, which announced a partnership with the company in March.

Oxford Industries chose Exotec to automate a new, large-scale distribution center in Lyons, Ga. The facility will support Oxford Industries’ ongoing business growth and boost the productivity of its existing workforce.

The Skypod system deployed at Oxford will serve as the picking engine for the whole warehouse. It will consist of over 450,000 storage locations and more than 450 robots.

In order to meet the increasing demand for its technology, Exotec said it intends to grow North American headcount by 66% in 2025, primarily in engineering roles.
