With the holiday rush in full swing, warehouse robot suppliers are marking new milestones. Exotec SAS today announced that its Skypod fleet has completed more than 1 million container presentations on a daily basis worldwide.

“Achieving 1 million presentations daily is a huge milestone because it represents the level of trust that our customers place in us to support and drive their supply chain operations day to day,” stated Romain Moulin, co-founder and CEO of Exotec. “This achievement showcases the reliability of our systems as we continue to scale our install base around the world.”

With offices in Lille, France, and Atlanta, as well as in Munich, Tokyo, and Seoul, Exotec said the world’s largest brands use its hardware and software to improve efficiency, resilience, and working conditions in warehouses. Founded in 2015, the company won a 2024 RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award for the deployment of its Skypod modular storage system at Lane Automotive.

Skypod saves steps and time

The average warehouse worker in a manual warehouse walks an estimated 10 mi. (16 km) a day, on average. Exotec claimed that its goods-to-person (G2P) system can save warehouse workers thousands of steps per day by cutting the need to pick items for fulfillment manually. The company said its systems offer a fivefold increase in picking productivity.

In the case of Exotec’s latest record, each presentation represents a robot retrieving a container and delivering it to a designated workstation. The company added that each container can fulfill up to four orders, significantly reducing the time and effort it takes for warehouse workers to keep up with customer demand.

“Exotec has experienced explosive growth since its founding, reaching 100 million container presentations within five years,” it claimed. “Today, it would take the company only three months to achieve the same milestone.”

Exotec continues global expansion

Exotec said Skypod has gained market momentum in the past year, citing the following achievements:

  • Worldwide expansion: To accommodate its growing global footprint, the company has expanded its global presence. It moved into larger office spaces in Atlanta and Munich, while also expanding into new markets including Austria and South Korea.
  • Team growth: Exotec said its workforce has expanded to 1,300 employees, fostering innovation and excellence across its operations. The company projected an additional 25% headcount growth in 2025 to meet increasing demand.
  • Customer sites: Exotec has also grown its install base, reaching more than 135 customer sites worldwide with new sites stood up across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. In March, the Skypod provider said it had sold more than $1 billion in warehouse automation globally.

Exotec said it considers the whole warehouse in its automation design approach.
