FlexLink this week launched its Online Store to simplify the purchase of material handling systems. It said the platform enables users to select, configure, and purchase conveyors and components in a few clicks.

An automated and efficient transport system has a direct impact on two key indicators for any production line: overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) and total cost of ownership (TCO). In the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), pharmaceutical, automotive, tissue, and optical sectors, material handling affects energy consumption and operating costs, said FlexLink.

Adopting efficient motors and drives, or selecting appropriate conveyor systems, can reduce electricity consumption by up to 25%, the company claimed. The right systems can also produce tangible benefits in terms of component wear and scheduled maintenance.

FlexLink said it hopes to make identifying and ordering the conveyor best suited to a user’s specific needs quicker and more intuitive with its Online Store.

FlexLink guides users to the best solutions

FlexLink said it designed its Online Store to follow a structured, step-by-step approach.

Once the user identifies the reference industry, the Online Store will ask what type of product needs to be conveyed. The system then collects key physical characteristics, such as material, weight, dimensions, and sensitivity to contamination.

In addition, it considers the production environment in which the system will operate. This can include whether it is wet or dry or if it includes the presence of oils, or is a clean room.

Based on this information, the Online Store suggests the most suitable platforms, conveyor types, design variants, and required accessories. Customers do not need to browse through dozens of components, said FlexLink. The platform proposes a configuration already aligned with the production requirements, reducing time, risk of errors, and technical complexity, the Coesia unit asserted.

Online Store features two levels to guide configuration

The platform operates on two integrated levels. The first helps customers identify the correct solution based on application criteria.

The second, more technical level allows users to define quantities, component families, variants, and accessories, all the way through to requesting a quotation or confirming an order.

Everything takes place directly online through a web interface that FlexLink said combines ease of use with technical consistency.

The Online Store integrates a three-dimensional configurator that updates the visualization of the conveyor system in real time and enables a fast transition to quotation requests or order placement. FlexLink said the digital experience is aligned with its commercial processes and helps streamline the design phase, supporting faster, consistent, and technically sound decisions.
