Hyster Co. yesterday added two new higher-capacity internal combustion engine, or ICE, models to its UT forklift series. The company said it designed the models to meet the less demanding materials handling needs within intense industries like metals, building materials, mining, and manufacturing.

“The new additions to the UT Series play a key role in our approach to meet operations where they are by providing the strength and performance they expect from Hyster in solutions that are right-sized for their application,” said Jennifer Meyers, global activation manager at Hyster. “The simple and straightforward design of these new trucks provides the ergonomics and serviceability to keep operators stacking, loading, and moving goods, and to keep operating costs low.”

Inside the two new forklifts

Hyster claimed the 8,000-to-10,000-lb. (3,628.7 to 4,535.9 kg) capacity H80-100UT and 11,000-to-15,500-lb. (4,989.5 to 7,030.6 kg) capacity H110-155UT offer reliable, cost-effective systems. The forklifts can help industrial businesses maintain productivity and protect their bottom line, the company said.

Hyster said it kept ergonomics in mind for both the H80-100UT and the H110-155UT to help reduce operator fatigue throughout the course of a shift. It has a wide-view mast for visibility, a 3.5-in. (8.8 cm) LCD display, and an automotive-style layout.

Each model also offers generous foot room and an adjustable steering column to support a more comfortable operating position. A profiled steel overhead guard and high-strength roof help enhance operator protection.

The trucks also include an operator presence system as standard. In addition, users can configure them with an optional full-suspension seat that reduces the shock and vibration experienced by the operator.

These new UT models are designed to keep the total cost of operation low, with durable components and features that promote fast, simple service, claimed Hyster. The large engine access area offers technicians generous room to perform routine maintenance. The company added that troubleshooting issues does not require computer-based diagnostics.

A heavy-duty powershift transmission and robust drive axle offer long service life. The UT Kubota 3.8-liter diesel, LPG, and dual-fuel engines provide reliable performance and enable operations to easily source replacement parts.

In fact, the engine cover, instrument panel, display, and many other components are interchangeable with UT Series trucks of other capacities.

More about Hyster

Hyster initially launched its UT line in 2020 with 4,000-to-7,000-lb. (1,814.3 to 3,175.1 kg) capacity, ICE-powered trucks. Since then, the UT series has grown to include a broader range of lift capacities and motive power options, including lead acid and lithium-ion battery packs. All trucks come with the full support of the Hyster Dealer Network.

The company is a division of Hyster-Yale Materials Handling Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hyster-Yale Inc. Founded in 1929, Hyster is a leading designer and manufacturer of forklifts and material handling systems.

The Greenville, N.C.-based unit claimed that its equipment can meet the needs of a range of industries. This includes fast-paced industrial warehouses and manufacturing facilities, and demanding, heavy-duty applications in ports and terminals.

Last month, Hyster launched a new automated lift truck, Hyster Atlas, which it said is engineered for ease of use, dependability, and efficiency. The truck comes with a drag-and-drop portal for easy deployment and fast setup, it said.
