Jingsong Robot Co. this week introduced the X-FMR, a new “all-purpose” counterbalance forklift mobile robot for use in warehouses. The Hangzhou, China-based company said this new model can autonomously identify, lift, transport, and stack cargo.

The company said these systems are already at work in a factory in Fusong, China. There, employees transport large-tonnage, double-pallet loads from the stacking conveyor to the warehouse.

In the warehouse, the new automated forklifts lift the loads to a height of 3 m (9.8 ft.), completing precise three-layer stacking. After each task, the data is instantly synced to the client’s system, increasing workflow efficiency by up to 70%, said Jingsong Intelligent.

The X-FMR is built for speed, slopes indoors and out

X-FMR features a new power system and a cross-industry synchronized motor for significant improvements in speed and peak power, claimed Jingsong. The forklift also has a minimum speed of 10 mm/s (0.02 mph) and enhanced stopping precision.

With a peak power of 40KW, the X-FMR supports a maximum speed of 3.7m/s (8.2 mph) and acceleration of 1.5 m/s². Jingsong said this results in a 150% efficiency boost compared with conventional single-steering forklifts, offering precise and efficient performance in both dynamic and static operations.

The new counterbalance forklift is built on a platform designed for both indoor and outdoor use, including ride-on models. Its chassis provides stability on slopes up to 20% incline.

IPX4-rated waterproofing allows all-weather use, expanding the X-FMR’s operational range for rainy and cold storage environments.

Forklift mobile robot includes patented tech

With one-hour charging and multiple battery-swap options, the lift truck meets diverse customer needs across industries, asserted Jingsong. The company added that its charging stations can support up to 60 units simultaneously for continuous operation and 24/7 “lights-out” factory automation.

Jingsong also cited the system’s array of patented technologies. Advanced algorithms and a proprietary controller streamline deployment, it said, offering flexible, scalable, and adaptable multi-vehicle fleet scheduling and management.

The X-FMR’s modular design, combined with an advanced vision system, allows for precise attachment recognition, the company said. Its dual-pallet forks enable simultaneous loading, meeting the stringent demands of triple-layer pallet stacking and double-layer soft package handling.

Jingsong emphasizes new systems’ safety benefits

The X-FMR can also lower labor intensity and enhance safety in operations, said Jingsong. In large factories, which can span tens of thousands of square meters, traditional workflows often require significant human resources to manage tasks across multiple production lines, storage areas, and loading docks.

However, not only do long-distance travel and mixed operations between workers and forklifts decrease efficiency, but they can also increase safety risks, said the company.

A major beverage company used multiple counterbalance forklifts to automate material replenishment and storage across its production lines and warehouses. The trucks managed more than 10,000 storage locations with intelligent control, reducing manual labor by 85% and dramatically lowering the risk of safety incidents.

Shenzhen, China-based Jingsong Intelligent is a provider of automated guided vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), and intelligent factory systems. Its portfolio includes automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS), light or heavy stacker-crane shuttle systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and warehouse control systems (WCS).

The company has over 19 years of experience in the warehousing industry and said it has handled over 700 project cases.
