KPI Solutions this week announced a new project with a $20 billion global consumer goods company. KPI will use its expertise in software, systems integration, and automation to revamp the company’s distribution network.

“We are honored to design this solution that is central to an overarching infrastructure investment and will result in a scalable, resilient, and flexible distribution system,” said Andy Recard, vice president of sales at KPI Solutions. “This innovative, large-scale project will enable a high-performance, high-volume environment that meets today’s customer expectations and supports growth for tomorrow’s market demands.”

Belton, Mo.-based KPI Solutions provides supply chain services and automation to distribution centers.
The company‘s offerings include consulting, network strategy, engineered facility design, material handling systems integration, robotics, intelligent warehouse software, and lifetime services.

ASRS to optimize pallet movement in new DC

KPI plans to consolidate multiple satellite facilities into one larger, automated, and more efficient distribution center that is conveniently located adjacent to an existing manufacturing plant.

The automation is designed to significantly boost order throughput speed, enable direct customer shipments, expand capacity to over 100,000 pallet positions, and increase productivity.

At the center of project design is an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS). This high-density pallet shuttle solution is designed to optimize space, reduce manual handling, and increase energy efficiency. The facility is scheduled to go live in 2027.

KPI expands partnerships in 2025

This year, KPI announced a few partnerships with new robotics providers, expanding its offerings. In March, KPI announced a strategic partnership with Hai Robotics.

That collaboration integrated Hai Robotics’ ASRS and case-handling systems with KPI’s operational design to deliver customized systems to optimize storage, retrieval, and fulfillment processes. KPI noted that Hai’s robotics is particularly useful in the food and beverage industry.

Hai Robotics’ technology will integrate with Opto, KPI’s warehouse execution system (WES). Opto offers interoperability across automated technologies and WMS/ERP systems. The WES can balance workflows and increase order-fulfillment speed, KPI said.

Later in the year, KPI announced a new distributorship with robot-as-a-service (RaaS) provider, Pio, by AutoStore. KPI’s clients now have access to Pio’s cube-based order-fulfillment system.

Pio, created by AutoStore and integrated by KPI Solutions, helps small and midsize businesses run their warehouses more efficiently with robotics. With flexible cube-storage technology, smaller companies can manage more orders, save space, and ship faster with modular systems designed to fit almost any warehouse, the companies claimed.
