The new Snowbot S1 from Korea-based Hanyan Robotics is a battery powered, autonomous snow blower. The unit is being launched at CES 2022 in Las Vegas and is targeted at the consumer market.

Snowbot is designed for the task of clearing consumer driveways and sidewalks for climates that receive a moderate amount of snow fall.  Climates that receive regular heavy snow, deeper snow and properties that need more than 2100 square feet of clearance are better suited to a manual controlled, gas snowblower.

The robot charges in about 2 hrs and can then operate for about 1.5 hours. The unit weighs 65 kg (143 lb).

The Snowbot lists for $3,599 and comes with everything needed to charge the unit and maintain it in a working condition. The Snowbot S1 can throw the snow a distance of up to 12 ft (3.7m) and can remove snow up to a depth of 12 inches (3.05 cm). The robot will automatically adjust its speed depending on the depth of the snow.

The robot is equipped with LiDAR sensors for obstacle detection and avoidance, and it also monitors the auger speed to automatically stop the auger if it gets jammed with snow or some other object.
