Locus Robotics is making a big leap across the Pacific to expand into the Australian and New Zealand markets with regional integrator Cohesio Group. With this new strategic relationship, Cohesio Group becomes a licensed reseller of the Locus Robotics autonomous mobile robotic (AMR) solution.
“Locus Robotics is thrilled to partner with Cohesio Group, a pioneer in the logistics sector that shares our commitment of bringing highly effective, scalable and efficiency-driving solutions to warehouse operators worldwide,” said Rick Faulk, CEO, Locus Robotics. “This partnership enables us to bring the Locus solution to a greater number of retail and 3PL customers in the Australia and New Zealand region, who are under tremendous pressure to meet increasing demand in today’s booming e-commerce market. We look forward to working together to deliver cutting-edge robotic technology that will drive significant operational efficiency and productivity gains.”
The Cohesio Group is part of Körber AG’s Business Logistics Systems group. They focus on deploying and managing warehousing solutions in the APAC region. This strategic partnership makes Cohesio a licensed reseller of the Locus AMR solution. It ensures that Locus customers in the region will get local installation expertise, training and support for their systems.
“We have been exploring ways to broaden our portfolio and service offering in the robotics and AMR space. We know that many retailers and logistics providers are experiencing a surge in e-commerce demand and therefore having to re-think their operations. With this new partnership, we can add value to our clients and offer further AMR and technology solutions that can help them to meet this increase in demand,” said Nishan Wijemanne, CEO, Cohesio Group.
As The Mobile Robot Guide recently reported, Locus Robotics closed a $40M series D round of investment. With this additional investment, Locus is expanding its reach worldwide. This partnership announcement with Cohesio is likely the first of many additional strategic partnership relationships that Locus will forge on the path to worldwide growth as a leader in the warehouse automation market.
Locus continues to focus on automated fulfillment for retailers and in the operations of third-party logistics (3PL) worldwide. The Locus Robotics solution offers a complete stack from the warehouse management software all the way to the automation on the warehouse floor, enabling productivity improvements in the range of 2x to 3x.
