Locus Robotics Unveils Rapid Assessment Service

April 14, 2020

Locus Robotics launches a new Rapid Assessment and Design (RAD) service which helps customers quickly evaluate whether automation can help improve warehouse throughput. If you are considering the advantages of automating your warehouse, then the Locus RAD service can help you understand the benefits and return on investment (ROI).

Why now? It’s clear that the COVID situation is changing the way that consumers buy products. While organizations such as Amazon have reprioritized what is getting shipped and when, there are signs that the new fulfillment world order won’t be the same after the economy reopens.

It’s likely that you’re seeing new patterns to your business and Locus wants to help you evaluate automation options.

“The move to online commerce is happening faster than ever before. Now is the right time for third party fulfillment (3PL), retail, industrial, and healthcare companies to prepare for the volume surge by deploying new technology solutions to maximize their fulfillment efficiency and productivity,” said Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics. “The Locus Robotics RAD Service is done while maintaining social distancing to quickly give customers and prospective partners insight into how our solution will improve warehouse productivity to meet growing fulfillment demand as we emerge from the current pandemic.”

The program uses real data from your facility to you you assess the needs for automation. Using historical customer data about YOUR facility, Locus will design a revised Concept of Operations. This includes an ROI, timeline and system metrics.

In reality, this is little more than a sales tool, however Locus is one of the market leaders in warehouse automation. They have a ton of real customer data to benchmark your facility against. They have more real world experience than most of their competitors. Especially if you are currently functioning with a goods to person or person to goods operation in your warehouse or fulfillment centers.

The other consideration is that Locus is one of the pioneers of Robots-as-a-Service (RaaS). With RaaS, you can deploy Locus automation with zero capital investment. You’ll only pay as the robots operate to fulfill customer orders. This means that you don’t have to fight the capital expenditure battles to make this happen (which can be especially tough in this economic climate).

Locus is promising that the entire RAD evaluation process can occur in less than a week. So if things are slow for your operation at the moment, it might be a good time to research this opportunity.
