Geekplus Korea Ltd., an autonomous mobile robot developer, last week entered into a memorandum of understanding, or MoU, with Maersk Contract Logistics Korea. Under the agreement, the companies will collaborate on system integration projects.

The MoU outlines a comprehensive framework for cooperation between the two companies, focusing on the joint discovery and execution of robot-based logistics projects and the development of advanced technologies. Geek+ and A.P. Moller – Maersk said they expect the collaboration to drive efficiencies and create new opportunities within the logistics sector.

Geek+ PopPick rolls out in Korea

Under the partnership, Maersk has deployed Geek+’s latest shelf-to-person system, PopPick, at the Maersk Innovation Center in Korea. The shipping company said its goal is to showcase what it can achieve with robots in logistics.

Geek+ claimed that its technology can streamline warehouse operations, enhance picking accuracy, and significantly reduce operational costs. The Beijing-based company‘s autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) slide under inventory shelves and bring them to picking stations, eliminating redundant walking for employees.

Founded in 2015, Geek+ said that more than 800 customers use its AMRs to improve the flexibility, reliability, and efficiency of their supply chains. It was recognized with a 2025 RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award for the deployment of its SkyCube automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) with Unliver PLC.

Geek+ was recently listed on the main board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd. (HKEX).

Maersk invests in robotics partnerships

The Maersk innovation center will serve as a testing environment for new systems. The center allows both companies to explore the full potential of automation in logistics, it claimed.

“The agreement emphasizes the importance of confidentiality and good faith in all cooperative efforts, ensuring that all shared information remains protected and that both parties diligently pursue the goals set forth in the MoU,” said Geek+.

“The partnership between Geek+ and Maersk marks an exciting chapter in the evolution of logistics in Korea,” it added. “By combining their strengths and expertise, both companies hope to drive significant advancements in operational efficiency and service delivery.”

Maersk has worked to expand its robotics partnerships this year. In February, Verity collaborated with sportswear brand On and Maersk. The companies developed a pilot project to bridge the gap between the physical and digital supply chain environments.

The partners augmented Verity’s autonomous inventory tracking system with radio frequency identification (RFID) capabilities. The pilot explored the potential of RFID technology and Verity’s autonomous drones to enhance inventory visibility in one of On’s warehouses.
