Monarch Tractor, maker of the first fully electric, driver-optional, smart tractor, today announced it is expanding its footprint into India with the opening of its first office in the city of Hyderabad. As part of this expansion, the company has entered into a major technology agreement with AI and machine vision analytics startup Einsite, with the Einsite engineering team partnering with the compact tractor company to work on the development of edge applications and autonomy models and algorithms.

Editors note: In late June, the company had a setback with its operations within California when the Cal/OSHA board rejected an operational permit for its autonomous tractor on California farms. For the last few years, Monarch Tractor has been working closely with Cal/OSHA to amend Title 8, Section 3441(b) to clarify the use of driver-optional tractors without a human operator stationed on the vehicle, within a strict set of safety guidelines. The company is actively working the various agencies within California and is leading the industry in advocating for the advancement of autonomous agriculture equipment.
