Storing and moving materials are among the most common tasks in logistics, and automation providers are rising to meet the demand. Mytra last week opened new headquarters in Brisbane, Calif.

Founded in 2022 by alumni of Tesla and Rivian, Mytra said it is addressing the fundamental challenge of bulk material flow in warehouses and factories. The company has designed a vertically integrated, software-defined system to solve persistent warehouse inefficiencies.

It is building a novel full-pallet automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS). Most ASRS units today handle bins or totes.

Mytra said its robots enable goods-to-person (G2P) and goods-to-robot workflows, as well as the buffering of pallets in a cross-docking facility. The company added that its racking can be configured to fit into any existing warehouse and can work with manual forklifts, autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), or autonomous fork trucks.

Customers such as food and drug retailer Albertsons Cos. are already using the technology to unlock more resilient and productive supply chains, said Mytra.

Mytra moves into multifunction space

Mytra is a 2025 RBR50 Startup of the Year honoree for its innovative ASRS and was recently a guest on The Robot Report Podcast. The company has been growing rapidly, and moving to a larger space is a milestone for any startup.

“The city of Brisbane punches above its weight in terms of technology innovation and local Bay Area talent,” said Chris Walti, co-founder and CEO of Mytra. “We’re thrilled to expand our footprint with a larger headquarters and warehouse space that will help us scale our robotics build-outs to meet growing customer demand.”

Mytra has moved from its initial location to a new facility across town with a new 100,000 sq. ft. (9,300 sq. m) footprint. The company said the new space will support its fast-growing team, which now includes more than 100 employees.

The new headquarters will also enable Mytra to accelerate system development for its proprietary robot and storage rack platform. In addition, the company said it will serve as a showcase location for enterprise customers.
