OSARO’s pick-and-place robots are now compatible with Geek+’s warehouse automation system. This partnership allows the companies to offer a one-stop system for warehouse fulfillment operations and boost the ROI of their ASRS and autonomous mobile robot (AMR) system.
OSARO’s pick-and-place robots use a FANUC arm and various end-effectors for manipulating objects. Its system is able to pick items at a rate at least equal to manual operation, according to the company.
The partnership between OSARO and Geek+ can offer customers increased throughput, reduced dependence on labor, faster order processing, greater shipment accuracy, improved ROI, a scalable solution for changing needs and less need for floor space.
“At OSARO, our goal is to provide reliable robotic systems that make automation easy, which is why the seamless integration of our picking robots with Geek+ systems is so valuable for quick and easy deployment,” OSARO CEO Derik Pridmore said. “We’re pleased to have an OSARO-powered robot and Geek+ Sorting Series AMRs available for customers to see in action at our San Francisco RobotWorks customer center.”
The interoperability of OSARO’s robots with AMRs or ASRS from other companies is enabled by its REST API, which offers greater flexibility in what the systems can be asked to do. The API allows integrators to pick commands in a variety of blocks so that actions can be easily strung together in different ways.
Geek+’s mobile robots need only moveable QR code floor marks to operate, making them simple and fast to install and reconfigure. Its AMRs include its P Series Picking Robots, its S Series Sorting Robots, its RS Series Robots, its M Series Moving Robot, its F Series Forklift Robots and its A Series Collaborative Picking Robots.
“Solving the labor shortage is critical for anyone in e-commerce today,” Rick DeFiesta, executive vice president of sales and solutions at Geek+ America, said. “Geek+ systems take less floor space and are highly flexible in both their use and installation, allowing for easy redeployments in new configurations when necessary.”
As part of the agreement, Geek+ has joined OSARO’s partner program, which aims to be a one-stop shop for businesses looking to deploy robotics in their fulfillment operations.
