Transportation costs are continuing to rise, and warehouse operators are looking for smarter packout systems. Kardex Holding AG and Paccurate Inc. this week announced a strategic partnership that aims to integrate intelligent cartonization into Kardex’s FulfillX software ecosystem.

The collaboration brings together Kardex’s warehouse automation with Paccurate’s advanced packaging optimization technology. The companies said they can reduce shipping costs, minimize material waste, and improve overall fulfillment efficiency.

“By integrating Paccurate’s cutting-edge cartonization technology with our warehouse automation solutions, we are empowering businesses to reduce costs and increase efficiency like never before,” said Mitch Hayes, the president of Kardex AutoStore. “This collaboration underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability in warehouse execution.”

Seamless integration is key, say Kardex and Paccurate

Kardex and Paccurate said they will deliver a cost-effective fulfillment process for warehouse operations. Businesses can use Paccurate’s SOFTBOT application programming interface (API) for dynamic cartonization within Kardex’s Intuitive Picking Assistant and FulfillX execution software.

When an order is processed, Paccurate’s platform determines the optimal box selection and generates packing instructions in real time, considering dimensions, weight, shipping constraints, and even negotiated rate cards.

Kardex said its Intuitive Picking Assistant and FulfillX software then provide visualization for warehouse workers at the AutoStore port, allowing for precise picking and packing.

The partners said this integration will enable customers to:

  • Reduce void fill and optimize packaging decisions
  • Lower transportation expenses and improve sustainability efforts
  • Streamline picking and packing workflows, reducing inefficiencies and manual labor
  • Enhance the unboxing experience for end customers with consistent, right-sized packaging

“Partnering with Kardex allows us to bring cost-aware cartonization to a wider audience and make a meaningful impact on fulfillment operations,” said James Malley, CEO of Paccurate. “Together, we are solving a critical industry challenge—eliminating waste while optimizing efficiency.”
