Piaggio Fast Forward Launches Gita Robot

October 22, 2019

Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF) announces the launch of the gita Personal Carrier mobile robot. The two wheeled robot is designed to follow you around town while carrying up to 18 kg (40 lbs) of your personal gear or groceries. The gita robot will sell for $3,250 and will start shipping on November 18, 2019.

A Constant Companion

This is a new generation of gita robot, after the company rethought their original concept which they launched in 2017. The robot is no longer autonomous, and can only follow its owner around like a puppy dog. It’s also likely to be limited to fair weather days on hard surfaces. Finally, the robot can’t climb stairs, so owners will have to look for ramps (less than 16 degrees) on which to lead their gitas.

The robot can operate continuously for four hours and then rapidly recharge in under 2 hours. The owner can also recharge phones and other devices from the internal charging port. It is simple to use and there is a app to interface with the robot. However, the robot is simple to operate and doesn’t have a screen onboard.
