Piaggio Fast Forward (PFF) has announced that the gita robot family will be getting a new member just in time for the holidays. This first all-black limited edition of gitamini extends the existing gitamini color scheme of a bright yellow and basic beige.

The gitamini is being offered in Shadow Black as a limited edition. This special edition of the best-selling gitamini version also includes a built-in Bluetooth speaker.

Piaggio Fast Forward positions itself as a leader in “following technology”, however almost every autonomous mobile robot (AMR) on the market has a “follow me” feature. So the technology is really just state of the art.

Probably the best feature of the gitamini is the built-in USB port to (re)charge your cellphone. Gitamini stands and self-balances and keeps a following pace of up to 6 mph (9 kph) for up to 21 miles (34 km) on a single charge while carrying up to 20 pounds (7.4 kg) of gear. The unit itself weighs 28 lbs (10 kg).

It is available for consumers starting at a retail price of $2,175.

“This holiday was the perfect opportunity to create an exclusive colorway for the best-selling gitamini robot. We designed it with a blacked-out body and wheels accentuated by the contrasting cool gray interior to provide its user the ability to easily locate belongings inside the bin. We also gave this gitamini a Bluetooth speaker so walking enthusiasts have a more elevated experience as they enjoy even more of their life on foot,” notes Greg Lynn, PFF’s Chief Executive Officer. “With most walking trips being a mile or less, gitamini makes those 2,000 steps easier, more fun and now eye-catching.”
