The warehouse is a bustle of physical activity with products, people and machines all moving in a coordinated dance to keep goods flowing in and out. While these outward processes are easy to observe, there is often a more subtle but equally complicated digital process playing out behind the scenes: the gathering, sorting, and storing of digital data.
In this report, we will explore where and how digital data is being collected and stored; what is driving the push toward a digital data strategy and what warehouse operators hope to gain from such a strategy; and what challenges warehouses face when looking to adopt or expand the collection of digital data.
