The RoboAds RA-200, is an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) equipped with onboard LCD screens. The solution is designed to navigate autonomously at a tradeshow, convention, conference or sporting event, while showing advertising or live video on the screens.
The solution might also be deployed in the lobby of a hotel, an airport terminal or a hospital to communicate important information or time-sensitive or position-relative advertising.
The AMR is equipped with three 55inch 4K digital signage screens, and uses an onboard 5G-LTE modem for communication, rather than relying on WiFi. It includes an onboard camera that provides a real-time visual queue for the operator, who can monitor its activity remotely and even initiate a live telepresence video call on one or three screens.
The RA-200 is programmed to autonomously roam around the facility while actively avoiding obstacles and pedestrians while the large screens are attracting attention, and engaging targeted audiences. The solution can operate both indoors and outdoors. The company is currently recruiting local distribution partners.
“The RA-200 has been designed to boost brand awareness, precision targeting and customer engagement, which are the core elements of digital signage advertising,” explained Mr. Faysal ElChamaa, the company’s CEO and founder. “With a unique ability to attract attention and interact with targeted audiences, the RA-200 empowers brands, shapes customer engagement and leads to action.”
The Palo Alto headquartered startup was established in 2018. The company was one of the first to employ an AMR to move large advertising screens throughout a facility.
“These are exciting times for RoboAds. The RA-200 is an important milestone in the fast development of our company. After bringing together the best talent in AI technology and robotics, we have managed to build unprecedented solutions for the digital signage industry, opening new revolutionary opportunities. Open minded advertisers who will visit the Step Conference this year will be astonished,” said Mr. Faysal.
The RA-200 is not for sale, but can be rented for any occasion. RobAd technicians will come onsite to setup and deploy the solution for a specific event.
The RobAds RA-200 is 100 cm x 110 cm x 172 cm (39.4″ x 43.3″ x 67.7″) and weighs 380 kg (1020 lbs). It can run 9 hours on a 5 hr charge time.
The Aqses Telepresence application to control the AMR is currently only available as an Android app.
