The AI Index 2018 Annual Report, released this week, reported that the number of unique robot operating system (ROS) binary packages downloaded from ROS.org has increased by 567% since 2014. ROS is the most popular operating system for mobile robot solutions used commercially and in research operations. The data over the period 2011-2018 is shown below.

The AI Index 2018 Annual Report also collected pageview data from ROS.org worldwide and put the metrics together. As the graph below illustrates, the US and Europe lead the world for ROS interest, however all regions show increased interest in ROS.
