Tangram Vision launches HiFi depth sensor
In this week’s episode, we learn about the new HiFi 3D Depth Sensor with Adam Rodnitzky, co-founder and chief operating officer, and Brandon Minor, CEO of Tangram Vision. The San Mateo, Calif.-based company recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for its new sensor.
Rodnitzky and Minor said the product promises to disrupt the depth-sensor market for price and performance. Listen to the interview to learn more about this new sensor, as well as the challenges facing developers and users of 3D sensors for robotics and other autonomous systems.

Next Generation Robotics optimizes robot, inventory movement
Also on this episode, we sit down with David Pepper, co-founder and CEO of Next Generation Robotics, to find out about its “optimization as a service” offering. The New York-based company said it provides expanded capabilities for mobile robot fleet management and inventory movement within warehouses.
Next Generation Robotics has been developing its algorithms. It has also set up a cloud-based service for robotics vendors and warehouse management software (WMS) providers to tap into optimization algorithms for their specific workflows. The service is now available for use.
