10. Gartner says mobile robots for supply chain entering growth stage of hype cycle
Gartner Inc. said it expects robotic technologies for supply chains to mature in the next two to five years. This will result in an accelerating market for increasingly capable mobile robots and drones, said the consultancy. Stamford, Conn.-based Gartner’s “Hype Cycle for Mobile Robots and Drones” is a graphical depiction of a common pattern that arises with each new technology or other innovation through five phases of maturity and adoption. In November 2024, Mobile Industrial Robots announced the MC600 mobile collaborative robot, the latest addition to its growing list of MiR Go-approved products. “By integrating the ‘legs’ of a mobile robot with the ‘arms’ of a cobot, the MC600 addresses multiple automation workflow challenges such as palletizing and machine tending with one system,” said Jean-Pierre Hathout, president of Mobile Industrial Robots.
