While most warehouses worldwide have yet to use automation, adoption is rising for mobile robots, automated storage and retrieval systems, and more. Learn more in a panel discussion about warehouse automation at the Robotics Summit & Expo in Boston.
Before the COVID-19 pandemic, businesses were wary of robots because of their novelty or failed pilot projects. Now, persistent labor shortages, supply chain snafus, shifting consumer demand, and safety concerns have led to a growing appreciation of how automation can increase throughput and yield data insights.
At the same time, warehouses need the right robots and software for their applications and expect rapid returns on investment. The Robotics Summit session on “The State of Warehouse Automation” will look at currently available technologies and what segments are most using robots. It will also examine how developers and end users can collaborate.
Learn from logistics and warehouse automation leaders
The following industry leaders will participate in this session:
- John Santagate is vice president of robotics at Körber Supply Chain. He has experience as an analyst, a consultant, and a supply chain strategist.
- Adrian Stoch is chief automation officer at GXO Logistics. Stoch has held operations roles in a range of industries, and he helped significantly expand automation at GXO customers.
- Tim Tetzlaff is vice president and global head of accelerated digitalization, DHL Supply Chain, which has deployed more than 7.200 projects following its digitalization and automation agenda.
- Eugene Demaitre is moderator and editorial director for robotics at WTWH Media, which produces Mobile Robot Guide and the Robotics Summit & Expo. He has covered automation for nearly a decade and has spoken at numerous conferences, podcasts, and webinars.
The expert speakers will share their real-world experience at major third-party logistics providers and systems integrators. They’ll also discuss common pain points, best practices to address them, and examples of how warehouses can navigate today’s technologies to set themselves up for future success.
In addition, attendees can learn how smart partnerships and careful integration are just as important as picking the best robot and software for a particular task or environment.
The session will be from 4:15 to 5:00 p.m. ET at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. View the full Robotics Summit agenda here.
