China based XAG creates a smart agriculture ecosystem, and it started with drone based data support for farmers. The company characterizes this data as the era of Agriculture 4.0. From its expertise in data acquisition and drone operations, the company recognized the need for ground-based operational support for farmers. From this opportunity, the XAG R150 was born.

The XAG R150 is configurable for a variety of agriculture applications

The XAG R150 is designed to be configurable for many different tasks and applications around the farm. The vehicle can carry up to 150 kg (330 lbs), and is available in three base models: delivery version, spray version, and an open payload version. XAG has developed a complete spraying solution capable of autonomous spraying within orchards and on fields.

Autonomous navigation and operation

The XAG R150 control system leverage XAG’s experience in developing autonomous drone-based aviation solutions. The heart of the XAG navigation system is the SUPERX3 Pro RTK Control System. The XAG R150 is accurate and capable of centimeter precision, plenty of accuracy for agriculture applications. The XAG navigates using optical positioning, and includes real-time transmission over high-speed 4G or a wireless network (WiFi).

The XAG R150 can operate in waypoint mode for route following; in shuttle mode to repeat a taught path; in “follow-me” mode to follow a worker throughout the farm; or in tele-operation mode. The vehicle can be controlled via an app on your smart phone or via the XAG joystick.

The XAG platform is accessible for third party attachments, providing power and control outputs for additional functionality.
