Warehouse automation integrator Logistex plans to deploy 165 robots from Geekplus Technology Co. at Yusen Logistics’ 1.2 million sq. ft. (111,484 sq. m) distribution center in Northampton, U.K.

“This project demonstrates the power of flexible automation,” stated Simon Houghton, sales director for the U.K. and Ireland at Geek+.

“Our Shelf-to-Person system enables scalable growth without disruption,” he said. “We’re proud to support Yusen Logistics in their first of this kind of automation project in the U.K., but also in the Europe region.”

Geek+ mobile robots to roll out in phases

Logistex is deploying shelf-to-person technology from Geek+. These systems use autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to move inventory shelves and pallets to picking stations. This eliminates redundant walking for workers picking orders, said the companies.

The scalable solution will be implemented in two different phases to ensure business continuity throughout the transformation, said the partners.

Geek+ said its P800 V6.0 AMRs can enhance picking efficiency, accuracy, and space utilization. These are key advantages for third-party logistics providers (3PLs) facing growing customer demands, it noted.

Geek+ said its systems can automate warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, and sorting. The Beijing-based company said it can help customers worldwide improve productivity, efficiency, and flexibility. It won a 2025 RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award for its deployment with Unilever.

Yusen, Logistex deployment aligns with strategy

For Yusen Logistics, the deployment aligns with its broader digitalization strategy aimed at increasing efficiency and responsiveness across its operations.

“By integrating Geek+’s robots, we will be able to improve accuracy, agility, and throughput,” said Ben Bird, business development and solutions design director at Yusen Logistics. “The system will give us the flexibility to scale alongside our customers’ evolving needs while gaining a great customer experience.”

The implementation is part of a wider warehouse automation project led by Logistex. The company aims to ensure seamless integration with Yusen’s infrastructure and business processes.

“It’s a pleasure working with Yusen and Geek+ on such a forward-thinking project,” said Justin Saw, business development director at Logistex. “Together, we look forward to delivering a future-ready solution with immediate results.”

Yusen Logistics Co. was established in 1955 and currently has over 25,000 employees worldwide at 680 locations in 46 countries and regions, plus 3.4 million sq. m (36.5 million sq. ft.) of warehousing space. The company‘s services range from supply chain management and consulting, through to contract logistics, hazardous materials logistics, and reverse logistics.
